Pokemon Go Plus launches September 16

According to the press release, the GO Plus will be most useful when trying to find Pokemon. When a player passes by a Pokestop or when a Pokemon pops up nearby, the device is going to vibrate and light up.

Well, now they’ve finally revealed that the release date for the Pokemon Go Plus is September 16th, which is a little over a week away.

While Nintendo says that the Pokemon GO Plus can be used while the game is running in the background, it also notes that Pokemon GO does not record distance when in background mode.

The Pokémon Go Plus will cost $35 when it starts shipping but with interest in the game continuing to grow – the app has now been downloaded a remarkable 500 million times since its launch in July – there are bound to be plenty of takers.

Actually, if the current eBay market is any indication, the demand for that Bluetooth device may be reaching “Nintendo Wii at launch” levels. Players can press the button on the device once close to throw a Poke Ball. Moreover, it’s much cheaper than buying an Apple Watch for when the app expands to that device later this month. And really, the challenge is what keeps people playing.

If you’re a hardcore Pokemon Go player, we have important news for you!

What can you do with the Pokemon GO Plus? Players can even collect digital goods and catch Pokemons without taking out their phone.

Let’s be honest, the reason why the game has been losing popularity is not because users need to constantly look at their phones – it’s because the fun and challenge that comes with a new game is depleting rapidly.
