The Apple CEO kicked off the iPhone 7 launch event in his own episode of the popular show, riding in a Range Rover with host James Corden and singer Pharrel Williams. It was hilarious, awkward, and endearing-so needless to say, we’re really, really here for it.
“We love music, and “Carpool Karaoke” celebrates it in a fun and unique way that is a hit with audiences of all ages”, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet software and services, said according to Variety. Corden criticized Cook’s outfit choice-why wear a blue polo when you could wear a suit covered in apples (or something similarly topical)? Wednesday he added one of tech’s top dogs: Tim Cook.
With the iPhone 7 just launched, it was the ideal way for the company to announce its fall offerings as Apple had earlier declared that it had purchased a spinoff of James Corden’s series a couple of months ago.
James and Tim also sang a duet version of One Republic’s I Lived after the Apple CEO admitted being a superfan of the band.
