Shaq On Kaepernick Anthem Prostest: ‘I Would Never Do That’

Mark Cuban’s recent interview made me think twice about watching him on “Shark Tank”. What I mean by that is, he never once went against America.

“I’m not against the military”, Marshall said after the game, per Cameron Wolfe of the Denver Post.

“The jersey sales jumped because of people’s belief that there can be change”, he said.

ThinkProgress wrote on the origins of the Kaepernick rumor: “The racist implication behind Bolling and the Daily Caller’s allegation is that the very act of being Muslim somehow explains behavior they perceive to be anti-American”. “I think that’s a tragic situation where players aren’t comfortable speaking what’s really on their mind and what’s right because they’re afraid of consequences that come along with it”.

Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest seems to be slowly be gaining steam across the NFL. I feel for Kaep. On the other hand, we believe very strongly in patriotism in the NFL. Kaepernick went from being one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the league and the future face of the 49ers franchise to a backup to fellow quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

Marshall is the third player in two weeks to join Kaepernick’s cause. According to ESPN.com, more Kaepernick gear was sold last week on the 49ers’ site than in the past eight months combined.

“If they can defend the free speech right of one of their players, certainly they can acknowledge the unfortunate harm that may be inflicted upon the good men and women of our department who also work at the stadium”.

Kaepernick is set to suit up for Monday’s game as the No. 2 quarterback behind Blaine Gabbert. I thought that there were other things that he could have done to protest the unnecessary killing of people by the police, such as donating money or setting up peaceful protests in certain communities. He also wore socks in practice that had images of a pig in a police hat, a move he said was done to protest “rogue cops”. “I’ve been in this position before”. It’s pretty clear what the message is I am trying to bring to light in Chicago and what I continue to try to talk about the last few days.
