Tim Cook, chief executive officer of Apple, said at the annual event on Thursday which introduced the new iPhones and other products, that Apple Watch is already the world’s second largest watch brand after Rolex in terms of worldwide sales in 2015. The AirPods are compatible with every Apple product.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is available in 32, 128, and 256GB capacities in the United States for $649, $749, and $849, respectively. With iPhone 7 and 7 Plus retail prices more than double that of these Chinese brands’ high-end flagship models, which are always marketed as being equipped with most advanced technologies, Apple’s plan to change its lacklustre sales in China with the iPhone 7 models is not easy to achieve.
Both the Apple Watch Series 1 and the Apple Watch Series 2 will also be available for pre-order.
Apple breaking with tradition, said it won’t provide opening weekend sales numbers for new iPhone launches. Apple claims the battery life will be at least two hours more than the earlier versions.
The Apple iPhone 7 is priced in India at R60,000 onwards. The 7 Plus will include dual cameras for better pictures.
IPhone 7 users are not forbidden of using standard headphones, as the company will include an adapter for the iPhone 7’s Lighting port to enable 3.5-mm input connection. In comparison, one of its major competitors Samsung has been lowering its prices globally to combat Apple.
The upgraded Apple Watch will include water resistance to 50 metres and Global Positioning System, to allow users to track a workout without bringing along a smartphone.
Apple is releasing a new mobile operating system called iOS 10, aimed at working with the new hardware, on September 13, including upgrades to its maps and news applications.
Despite being equipped with a new waterproofing feature, whether the new Apple Watch can make a big splash in the China market is still uncertain, said analysts.

While Apple will allow consumers to use plug-in headsets, it also made a further push for wireless with new “AirPods” and upgraded Beats headphones. A test version of the software, which helps accelerate Apple’s efforts in home automation, was released earlier this year.
