Stunt selfie lands man in jail
Chattanooga resident David Karnauch, a self-styled adventure lover, has been arrested and is being held as a “fugitive from New York”. Several worldwide tourists have climbed the bridge to take photos, and in July of last year the American flags decorating the bridge were infamously swapped out for bleached white flags.

A college student from Tennessee who found his way onto an unauthorized area of the Brooklyn Bridge and took a selfie in June, has been arrested in his home state, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with reckless endangerment.
David Karnauch is under fire after New York Police officers find a picture of him on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. He later posted the picture on Instagram.
He was arrested on Monday and booked at the Hamilton County Jail. (“Probably tomorrow”, police say.) Depending on that ruling, the defendant could be traveling to Brooklyn to be processed in a local court within the next few days. Top brass at the time characterized the stunt as trespassing, but said it did not constitute a security breach.
“The person most endangered was the individual, whose goal seems to be bringing attention to himself”, Miller said in a statement to CBS2.

“I don’t recommend anybody else do it. It’s not a smart thing to do because I know they take security on the bridges seriously”, he said.
