Marko Grujic happy with start to life at Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has got a head start on this Premier League rivals this season and for that reason, he can have no excuses if he comes up short in the push for a top four finish. He has played just 93 minutes over three matches for Liverpool thus far, and his two goals came in the League Cup rout of Burton Albion. After a few games, whatever we did, people were going to compare to last season and say it’s a slow start. “He doesn’t have to gain my trust”, said Klopp. It’ll be hard for us but also for them.

Though it is a new season, Liverpool are still experiencing growing pains at the back.

“Liverpool are a very good team and on Saturday we have a very good match”, he said.

Out of action since April after failing – and subsequently being cleared of any wrong doing – a drugs test, Sakho picked up an achilles injury over the summer and was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of North America after a number of “disciplinary breaches” saw him run afoul of Klopp.

After 20 months of building work and years worth of planning, Liverpool FC’s new Main Stand at Anfield officially opens today.

Liverpool Provisional squad: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Firmino, Coutinho, Karius, Moreno, Grujic, Stewart, Lucas, Sturridge, Origi, Ings.

“Liverpool are one of my favourites to win the league”.

“He couldn’t play football for a long time”.

“For me, it is good; for him, no”, said Ranieri of Vardy’s England omission.

“I know I’m still a young guy and here there are many talented young guys”.

The secret, I guess, is to make the headlines for the right reasons and avoid any negative publicity and that is the target for Liverpool and Klopp over the course of this vital season for the club.

The 26-year-old was then sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of the United States for disciplinary reasons as he recovered from an Achilles injury.
