Praveen Kumar was detained from Delhi Secretariat this morning, police said. Praveen was interrogated for almost seven hours at the Sultanpuri police station.
On Monday evening, police said Kumar was confronted with Praveen. Kumar did not disclose his wife’s pregnancy to the U.S. embassy authorities in New Delhi.
Kumar hid information about his wife, Ritu Verma’s pregnancy when they traveled to the US. They returned in mid -July after the birth of Kumar’s son at a NY hospital.
The officer said that we will question Praveen to establish his role in the entire controversy.
Sandeep, who is being interrogated by the police, has claimed innocence in the matter. He also said he has done similar acts with many other girls. “The video was deleted after the case grabbed headlines”.
“He has disclosed that he has committed sexual assault with the woman and recorded this act as well”, Delhi Police told the court in its plea seeking four-day custody of Kumar.
Kumar, 36, was produced before Special Judge Poonam Chaudhry on expiry of one day police custody.
A Delhi Police team on Sunday visited the house where the woman was allegedly raped.
A complaint of rape was filed against Sandeep Kumar by the woman who figured in the video with him.
She further alleged that she fell unconscious when Kumar had offered her a spiked drink and after which he raped her. Kumar, she said, had confirmed to her that he will get a ration card for her and ensure jobs for her children.
