Clinton, Trump participate in security forum

Fifty-three percent of likely voters think that Clinton will outperform Trump in the debates, and 43 percent say the Republican nominee will win. Clinton and Trump participated in a wide-ranging forum Wednesday night hosted by NBC/MSNBC, in which Trump seemed to discuss some of what he had learned in his two classified intelligence briefings. “What I did learn is that our leadership, Barack Obama, did not follow what our experts said to do”, Trump said.

Steven Mnuchin, Trump’s national finance director, said in an interview that about $70 million of the contributions received in August were small donations raised online or through direct mail.

Speaking to reporters Thursday morning, Clinton suggested she agreed with Democrats who say she is being held to a different standard in the White House race.

Trump also predicted that if elected he would “have a very, very good relationship with Putin”.

Democrat Hillary Clinton is leading Republican Donald Trump in a new poll of likely voters in North Carolina.

However, when asked about whether he supported the invasion in Iraq in a 2002 radio interview with Howard Stern Trump hesitantly said: “Yeah, I guess so”.

It is clear that most of the mainstream press has little interest in pursuing any of this because it might harm Clinton’s chances in November.

Clinton is up by four points over Trump in the Tar Heel state, according to the latest numbers. They relentlessly (and often erroneously) fact-check the Republican candidate while letting the Democrat say things like what Obama said about Russian Federation in 2012.

For reasons that aren’t completely clear yet, Clinton’s lead in national polls has slipped since mid-August, when she led Trump by about 8 percentage points. Her remarks came a few days after the leak of a report commissioned by several progressive groups that found wide skepticism of Clinton among young African-American voters. The former secretary of state said that the use of the server was “a mistake” and that she would “certainly not do it again”.

Nationally, the Morning Consult poll showed Clinton’s lead widening in the Electoral College, mainly due to Trump’s support slipping in states like Arizona, which is now considered a tossup, and OH, which has shifted from tossup into the Clinton column. “That’s not only risky, it should be disqualifying”.

This week, Trump provided details on how he plans to boost defense spending and increase troop strength.

Trump’s willingness to have troops use waterboarding and kill family members of terrorists is contrary to American values and his remarks showed a lack of respect for US troops and the office of president, she said. Afterwards, some of his supporters shrugged off his comments about Putin.

“You’ve got to make sure you’re doing it to both candidates with the same set of rules”, Jamieson said.

The Clinton and Trump totals don’t just reflect campaign fundraising; they also include money raised by each candidate’s joint fundraising committees.

Overall, 53% of likely voters say they think the Democratic nominee will do a better job in the debates, while 43% expect her GOP rival to walk away the victor.
