She immediately removed the device, which was about the size of a large pen, to alert police. At the time, officers were unsure the device was a camera and sent it to the Orange County Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory for further examination.

The camera was mounted underneath the metal shelf of the Starbucks restroom in the photo above. Investigators are now trying to identify the people recorded.

It was not known how long the camera was in the bathroom.

The first one was in Lancaster, this latest one at the Starbucks off Imperial Highway in Brea.

Police also have a picture of a dark-haired man wearing a black shirt with a white stripe seen loitering in the area before the camera was found, Devereux said.

“He initially denied knowing anything about this and then later admitted to placing the camera there”, Devereux said.

Carrilloalvarado was arrested on suspicion of seven misdemeanor counts for secretly videotaping an identifiable person who may be in a state undressing inside an area where that person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, police said.

The boy’s mother alerted police to her son’s discovery.
