Everything you need to know about Apple’s new headphones

The iPhone 7 is finally here, and as predicted, Apple has made a decision to do away with one of its biggest utilities: the headphone jack.

Tim Cook, Pharrell and James Corden perform “Carpool Karaoke” on the way to the iPhone announcement.

Instead of a headphone slot, it will now come with earphones that fit into the phone’s lighting port, currently used for charging and data transfer. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide which one of them you will want to purchase, depending on your financial possibilities.

Change can be hard – and some people are having trouble coming to grips with the idea of Apple’s new wireless headphones, called AirPods.

Meanwhile the Apple Pencil accessory for the iPad now costs £99 in the United Kingdom, up from £79, and even the Sport Band for the Apple Watch has risen from £39 to £49. The second generation of the smartwatch boasts a faster processor and waterproofing to 50 meters. Taking a step back from all of it and without digging too much into the complexities, you can at least appreciate the joke HTC is making even if it has little basis. Take our Blaze poll. This piece of news came to light after Apple removed the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from its family of devices, including the Apple India website.

And Apple might’ve just killed it yesterday, with its bluetooth-powered AirPods. As for the iPhone 7 Plus, T-Mobile is offering the same monthly credits if you trade-in your iPhone 6 or later, but you’ll have to put $120 down for Apple’s larger phone.

AirPods really do look attractive and futuristic, but one of the first questions we had about these wireless headphones was about theft.

However, gone is the traditional headphone jack, requiring audio to be delivered via Apple’s proprietary “lightning” connector or by wireless – and that may ruffle feathers. An adapter for headphones with a standard 3.5 mm jack will also be included (and available for $10).

Apple has a way of hastening time honored tech to the grave.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is available in 32, 128, and 256GB capacities in the United States for $649, $749, and $849, respectively.
