The Trump camp did not say how much of its $90 million August haul goes into the campaign’s coffers, and how much goes to the national party and the state parties linked to the joint fundraising arrangements.

The New York real estate mogul’s campaign swiftly shot back, with Trump spokesman Jason Miller calling Clinton’s attacks “unhinged and dishonest”.

And so, in a press conference that lasted less than 20 minutes, Clinton achieved exactly what she set out to do: End the criticisms that she had gone the entire year without a press conference, and move the narrative beyond Thursday night’s forum.
