England snub good news for Leicester ahead of Liverpool clash says Ranieri

Manager Claudio Ranieri will be happy to escape the worldwide break with no new injuries and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is available this weekend after coming off injured in Leicester’s 2-1 win over Swansea and having a minor hernia operation shortly after.

Allardyce declined to use the Leicester striker at all during his first game in charge despite England struggling in Slovakia, instead starting Harry Kane and sending on Theo Walcott.

Claudio Ranieri broke Leicester’s transfer record to sign striker Islam Slimani.

Claudio Ranieri has advised Jamie Vardy on how to get in Sam Allardyce’s good graces.

Ranieri believes Vardy, last season’s 24-goal top scorer, will be ready for Leicester’s trip to Liverpool on Saturday because he did not feature for his country but wants him to prove a point to new worldwide boss Allardyce. For him, no. Maybe he is more hungry – show me. Also [Daniel] Amartey, [Danny] Drinkwater, Ben Chilwell, Shinji Okazaki – a lot of my players went around the world without playing.

Ranieri said: ‘It was a very little operation, it was good, the surgery was fantastic and he is ready to play’.

“First I want to speak with him and to see him in training, then they will see”.

“It’s important that everybody is in good condition”.

Following a significant global break for Leicester, the Foxes are back in the Premier League this weekend away to Liverpool on Saturday for what will be a tough test at Anfield.

A 1-0 loss at Anfield was the beginning of a tough stretch of games for the Foxes last season where they failed to find a goal for three-straight matches.

He said: “Slimani hopes to arrive this evening but it could be tomorrow morning”.

“Well I’m optimistic. I think that the squad is very strong”. We didn’t win the title because we are lucky. If always the people with the best circumstances would win, this world would be an ugly place. We must be confident. But I forgot, ‘ said Ranieri.
