Ronson told Gaga to sit at the piano and sing what she wanted to sing about.
Since then, Gaga has also released the song “Til It Happens to You”, which accompanied the 2015 documentary “The Hunting Ground”, which discusses rape on college campuses. Changed the melody, shifted it.
Earlier in the day, GaGa teased a music video for “Perfect Illusion”, showing her dancing in a black jacket and silver sequined hotpants.
Joining Emma at Capital Radio to promote her new single Perfect Illusion, the pair performed together in what’s totally our favourite moment of the week.
“Many of us are left wondering why there are so many fake things around us that really and truly appear to be real”.
The hype for the new single started last month when the award-winning songstress released a number of puzzling messages on her social media profiles, topping Billboard Twitter Top Tracks weeks before its release. But there’s also a lot of things that are on the internet that aren’t reality. “How do we navigate through social media?” she said. I think people feel pressured to keep that ideal illusion going on in their real lives.
The lyrics themselves are surprisingly poetic for the upbeat rhythm they accompany: “Caught up in your show / at least now I know, it wasn’t love / it wasn’t love, it was a flawless illusion / Mistaken for love, it was a ideal illusion”. “So this song is about raging against it and letting it go. It’s about wanting people to re-establish that human connection”. Soak it all in.

Meanwhile, Twenty One Pilots, the duo who now have two hit songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, mix “angsty lyrics, Macklemore-style rhymes, Ben Folds-like piano pop, 311-ish reggae beats, hard-rock energy and the occasional ukulele ballad”, as Rolling Stone reporter Andy Greene described them.
