Belkin made the iPhone 7 Lightning adapter we all knew was coming

The backlash that Apple has received so far for their unveiling of a headphone-free iPhone 7 has been quite significant, and it’s only natural that their rivals would capitalize on that.

Apple’s Phil Schiller recommends you pick up a iPhone Lightning Dock to satisfy your desire.

One of the more notable downsides is that you can’t listen to music and charge your device at the same time.

That’s because it took courage to remove the headphone jack from the phone, at least according to Apple.

It turns out there’s a docking station for that. Behold- the Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar! And it has two ports: a lightning port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Unfortunately, using the headphone jack adapter or the Lighthing EarPods means you can’t charge the iPhone 7 while listening to music, as either the Lightning EarPods or the headphone jack adapter would be using up the iPhone’s Lightning port.

Plug your phone into the dock, using a USB-to-lightning cable to connect the dock to a power source (or a PC) and you can charge the phone.

With the included Lightning to 3.5mm adapter I will still be able to use them with the new iPhone 7 Plus, but I won’t be able to charge up my iPhone. Belkin’s Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar doesn’t seem to be a ideal solution to the charging while listening issue. Then you may want a third-party adapter like Belkin’s new awkwardly (but descriptively) named Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar. There are a number of wireless headphones on the market and Apple has its own AirPods which retail at the ludicrous price of $159.

This gadget will let you charge the iPhone 7 and listen to music with EarPods at the same time
