Apple took the stage Wednesday to announce the iPhone 7, the new Apple Watch, and the AirPods that are supposed to replace headphones.

SAN FRANCISCO Apple Inc (AAPL.O) will not release first-weekend sales of its new iPhone 7, the company said on Thursday, making it harder for analysts to get a read on the product’s prospects amid questions over whether its popularity has peaked.
“iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus dramatically improve every aspect of the iPhone experience, reaching a new level of innovation and precision to make this the best iPhone we have ever made”, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. In the case of the 7 Plus, the smartphone will feature dual cameras adding wide angle and telephoto lenses.
Whether or not you think wireless headphones are absolutely unnecessary, you have to admit – getting your hands on an iPhone 7 definitely means that you’re leveling up in some way.
But in a nod to changing trends, Sony also included top of the line wireless audio, much liked by users who use their phones as music players during their daily run or in the gym.
Although last year’s iPhone 6s upgrade racked a bumper 13 million in first weekend sales for Apple so 10M iPhone 7 units would represent a bit of a drop-off.
The Jet Black iPhone 7, new this year, seems to be particularly helping the handsets to fly off the shelves.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants in silver, gold and rose gold colours.
While Apple has touted total iPhone sales of one billion, the number sold in the quarter ending June 25 fell 15% from a year earlier, highlighting concerns over growth for the key profit driver.

Apple’s phones have a Lightning Port at the bottom. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be available to preorder from Friday, September 9, 2016, and are set to ship from September 16. The company also unveiled a special Nike (NKE) edition of the smartwatch geared toward running enthusiasts.
The new camera “can take a handsome selfie”, Schiller said.
