Taylor Swift knows what I’m talking about.

Pop singer Taylor Swift’s $5,000 gift to a fund set up for a Jacksonville State University student who died in a Labor Day weekend vehicle accident came as a result of her connection to the student’s family.

“Kimi, No [sic] words could express how sorry I am for your loss”.

The goal for the account, set up in memory of Katie Beth Carter, was set at $30,000, but now sits at $34,019.

According to the GoFundMe account, Swift donated $5,000 and left a message for Katie Beth’s sister Kimi, a singer-songwriter herself and Swift fan, according to her social media pages.

According to People.com, Carter was involved in a crash with a tractor trailer on her way to her school’s campus after spending the Labour Day weekend with her family.

“All my love, Taylor”, Swift, 26, wrote on the account page. She died on Monday (05Sep16) in hospital due to her injuries.

Kelly Nichols, who created the GoFundMe site, said members of Carter’s family knows members of Swift’s management team. She was a shining star who touched so many lives.
