Will Trump achieve that kind of ease in largely African-American settings?

The near-universal condemnation of that pitch shows how much his campaign has alienated African Americans and how hard it will be for him to attract even minimal black support.

Brazile also argued that the party has delivered results for African Americans, pointing to falling unemployment, health insurance overhauls and fights to ensure voter access at the polls.
But the Republican presidential nominee says, “our greatest compassion will be for the American citizen”. What’s surprising is that so many Republicans have supported a path to citizenship. “Mrs. Clinton, like President Obama, will expand amnesty by executive order and weaken border security”, Babeu said.
When even Mitt Romney’s pal at the American Enterprise Institute is echoing Trump’s line of reasoning in blaming immigrants for the plight of American workers, it clarifies things.
In one Florida poll, Trump’s message showed some strength, earning 20 percent of support among black voters.
“He talks about us, and he doesn’t talk to us”, said Bettina Inclán, a former director of Hispanic outreach for the Republican National Committee.

But he also criticized the Democratic Party’s outreach efforts as “rather traditional, what you would expect – hit the churches. We’re going to connect the dots for people and let them see exactly why a continuation of progressive government is not good for the state of NY”. The next two months will feature four presidential or vice-presidential debates, hundreds of millions of dollars of mind-numbing attack ads, and new depths of political reaction, bombast and lies from both the Democratic and Republican parties. Bernie Sanders of Vermont during the Democratic primaries, said Trump has a point about the Democratic Party and black voters. It makes no sense to leave them in limbo. “He is raising a legitimate concern in the African American community”. “And unfortunately, you know, that leads to Democrats spending a lot of money here, unfortunately for Republicans”. “Not anymore. We need a system that serves our needs, not the needs of others”. He also said more young black voters are registering as independents and showing support for Green Party candidate Jill Stein, whose running mate is African American.
