Daniel Radcliffe, James McAvoy bring monster to life in ‘Victor Frankenstein
We’ve seen numerous of iterations of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein“, but aside from comedies, there’s never really been an essential Frankenstein movie. But here to wipe the bad memories of that shambling nightmare from your mind is something much more promising Victor Frankenstein, which has thrown the giant switch on its first trailer.

I even like Victor and Igor trying to hide their experiment from the police. The cast seem to be playing it with just the right amount of winking and nudging, the gothic aesthetic looks reasonably good (solid CGI monsters, too) and the quippy dialogue is amusing enough to pass muster. It’s from director Paul McGuigan, best known for Lucky Number Slevin and TV’s Sherlock while the script is written by Max Landis, who broke out with Chronicle. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. The film is set to release in Theaters on November 25, 2015.

The story is told from Igor’s perspective and is billed as showing the troubled young assistant’s origin and his redemptive friendship with medical student Victor Von Frankenstein.

Reminds me a lot of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes- two great actors playing buddies in historical Britain, with lots of action and comedy. I love it.
