Walmart Twin Towers display sparks controversy
Shawn Richard posted a picture of the display which presented Coke Zero in place of Ground Zero.

Interestingly, this doesn’t appear to be the first time this specific Walmart location has created a display that some could consider to be distasteful or exploitative.
Furious social media users then slammed the display as “tacky” and wrong’. “It was removed from our Florida store Wednesday”. The banner shows both Coca-Cola and Walmart’s logos, with a Rollback prices sign hanging in the display’s center.
Walmart is under fire for a 9/11-themed soda display set up under a banner saying “We Will Never Forget”, in Panama City Beach, Florida.
We spoke with several locals Thursday to get their take.
The World Trade Center towers were recreated using Coke Zero packages. Other Twitter users simply said they were speechless and still others posted parodic tweets making fun of the giant retailer.
Walmart has marked U.S. holidays with questionable displays before, including a tank made entirely of Bud Light to commemorate the 4th of July and a soft-drink display in the shape of a bald-head eagle for Veteran’s Day.
According to Orlando Weekly, Walmart initially approved the design.
These resembled the two towers in NY that fell 15 years ago.

Bottom line, when you’re remembering the 15 anniversary of 9/11 this week, let’s honor the victims and not try to make a quick buck.
