During the Tigers loss to Wisconsin at Lambeau Field, the runaway freight train known colloquially as Leonard Fournette hurt his left ankle late in the game.

“I think Leonard Fournette is a go or, if not a go, we won’t know until game day”, Miles said during an interview on LSU’s website Friday.
Earlier this summer, Fournette suffered a high ankle sprain. Miles declined to say if Fournette practiced on Wednesday when asked directly and when asked if he would play Saturday, replied, “as far as I know”.
The Heisman Trophy candidate had 138 yards on 29 carries against Wisconsin.

The Tigers methodical offense could have the luxury of letting Fournette recovery and give the rest of the group time to gel. He set school records in 2015 with 1,953 yards and 23 touchdowns rushing. Should he be unable to suit up against Jacksonville State, Derrius Guice would start in his place. Jacksonville State heads to the Bayou, and, despite the “hangover” effect that LSU may endure, a la coming off a huge Week 1 loss, it should take care of business. LSU travels to Auburn, hosts Missouri and plays at Florida.
