Here’s Why People Already Hate the iPhone 7

We spent some time with Apple’s new wearable (starting at $369) at its launch event in San Francisco, and found that it extends the original Apple Watch’s strengths and, with its Nike model, prods gently into Garmin and Fitbit fitness tracker territory as well. Love em or hate ’em, the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus caused quite a buzz, featuring a refined design, A10 fusion processor, new cameras, 25% brighter screen, new home button, stereo speakers, IP67 water resistance and a couple of shiny new colours. Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have cameras with optical image stabilizers to reduce blur from shaky hands, a six-element f/1.8 aperture lens, and an overhauled flash featuring four LED lights. The iPhone 7 will be able to connect to earbuds only wirelessly or by plugging in Lightning-based headphones (or an adapter) to the same port that you use to charge your device. Try the Apple Plug, which kills your headphone jack right now.

Apple claims new models have a longer battery life compared to the previous 6 and 6 Plus models. iPhone 7’s battery lasts two hours longer than the 6, while the 7 Plus battery lasts one hour longer than the 6 Plus.

The iPhone 7 is priced from US$649 (NZ$1199), the same as its predecessor, the 6s.

Of course, a hunk of plastic isn’t your only way to listen to music and charge the iPhone 7.

In announcing the elimination of the audio jack, Apple exec Phil Schiller said that the existing analog port was “ancient”, and that a compact digital device such as the iPhone couldn’t afford to waste real estate on it. Apple is one step ahead of you.

The new phone will start shipping in major markets, including the United States and China, on September 16.

According to industry analysts, Since Navratri – an auspicious time for shopping – begins on October 1 and with Diwali falling on October 30, this is a strategic time for Apple to register super iPhone 7 sales.

What this means is that Apple has removed the traditional headphone jack from the upcoming smartphone. But it seems the Apple gods have heard our prayers because the Apple Watch series 2 has a built-in Global Positioning System so you can now run completely iPhone-free.

“Since iPhone sales are on the rise in India, Apple must plan for a simultaneous global launch for the country too”, Pathak added.

“I predict Watch sales will improve dramatically”, said Tech analyst Patrick Moorhead. While the company sold almost 92 million iPhones in the first six months of this year, that’s about 15 percent fewer than the same period last year.
