Tupac-Themed Restaurant Opens Doors In California To Celebrate The Rapper’s Legacy

Menu items will include “a California Love Chicken Sandwich, Hennessy Apple Butter chicken wings, a Mac-and-Cheeseburger and Thug Passion cake pops, which are decadent champagne cakes coated with Alizé butter cream frosting”.

The inspiration for the restaurant comes from a journal entry now on display at the Grammy Museum written by Tupac’s own hand, laying out his vision for “a passionate paradise 4 people with power 2 play and parlay”. At any rate, that California Love chicken sandwich looks like ideal Instagram bait thanks to that flawless sauce drip.

Now the Powamekka Cafe will open thanks to the efforts of Fresno burger shop, Take 3, and Sam Hansen, a foodie and marketing director for the minor league baseball team, the Fresno Grizzlies.

The concept for Powamekka Cafe was inspired by a previous collaboration between Take 3 Burgers and Hansen, in which a tribute breakfast was held to celebrate the Notorious B.I.G.’s birthday earlier this year. The event will be capped off by local musicians playing covers of Tupac’s work.

It’s important to clarify the Powamekka Cafe will exclusively appear as a one day pop-up on the 13th through Take 3 Burgers, so the realization of Tupac’s culinary vision is fleeting and to be taken advantage of.

“Working on Powamekka Café makes me feel like I’m bringing Pac’s vision to life like I used to do for Kanye”. Either way, the menu sounds delicious.
