Billy Crudup is no stranger to the world of comic book movies after playing the iconic Dr. Manhattan in Zack Snyder’s big screen adaptation of Watchmen, but he now looks set to join the DC Films Universe.

In an report by Variety, it is said that Crudup is in talks to take on the role of Henry Allen.

It is now without an official release date, although production is planned to start this year with a 2018 release date likely. The film will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on a treatment from Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The cast also includes Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. Aquaman will follow, with Shazam also jumping in before the second Justice League chapter.
