Former WWE Tag Team Champions The Headbangers returned to WWE to foil Slater and Rhyno. Be back here tomorrow for the full Best and Worst of Smackdown column. Daniel Bryan walked off the set, and even though that incident happened in a Network-exclusive program, it will be incorporated into the show this evening, and WWE.com’s official preview speculates there could be some repercussions for The Miz.
But Miz cut another promo when Maryse and Miz were already in the ring. He says the fans are cowards and cheer for the wrong people. The Vaudevillains tried to take control but it was The Hype Bros who moved closer to the new championships with their win.
– AJ Styles comes to the ring, still wearing his John Cena headband. The self-professed new face that runs the place needs to keep the momentum going for the next two weeks to help his championship opportunity.
The main event sees WWE world heavyweight champion Dean Ambrose taking on the challenge of AJ Styles. Styles was irritated by Crews’ interruption, but it was the relayed message from Shane McMahon that put him over the edge: Styles would have to stop talking & start fighting – against Crews – now. Styles picked up the pinfall victory after a Phenomenal Forearm.

After last week’s confrontation, it was evident that we are getting a match at Backlash PPV between Randy and Bray Wyatt. On Kane’s entry, the show-off clearly panicked but failed to escape from the ring out of sheer fear as Kane came in and finished him off with his signature choke slam.
