Apple iPhone 7 hands-on review

The fact that the new iPhone is also water resistant nearly certainly played a role in the headphone jack’s demise.

Of course you could (and Apple would be more than happy if you did) buy the fancy new wireless AirPods or Beats headphones (also wireless), but that’s going to cost you a three-digit sum. From the missing headphone jack to the glossy rear panel, the flagship 2016 iPhone does have shortfalls.

All other models of the iPhone 7 Plus have delivery times of “two to three weeks”, although some 256GB models are down to be delivered between 27 and 29 September. Wall Street analysts say reports from Apple’s Asian manufacturers and suppliers indicate the company has chose to wait a year before introducing a major overhaul of the phone in 2017.

“The high-gloss finish on the Jet Black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodisation and polishing process”.

Eschewing a major design change, which many Apple watchers think is coming next year at the 10-year anniversary of the ubiquitous smartphone, the consumer electronics giant instead said its smartphone will offer better battery life, water resistance and a more powerful camera.

Apple’s most controversial move was removing the headphone jack.

Moreover, the model is only available in the 128GB and 256GB variants.

If you choose any variant of the Jet Black iPhone 7, however, you’ll get a shipping date of 3-4 weeks.

This shift in strategy on iPhone sales marks the second time Apple has held back some numbers in recent years.

“The sharp drop witnessed in the currency markets following the Brexit decision has forced us to re-evaluate the OnePlus 3’s pricing in the United Kingdom at a time of significant demand”, a spokesperson for OnePlus said at the time. Since they’re usually connected using Bluetooth, you can listen to music without taking your phone out of your pocket. With the lack of an audio port in the iPhone 7, wireless is one of two means to connect earphones to the device; the other being through the Lightning connector. If you’re listening to music with the headphones Apple supplies, the Lightning port will be occupied, meaning you can’t plug in the charging cable. You can use one port to charge your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, and the other for your Lightning connector headphones-or Apple’s own Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. According to Apple “the real innovation” involves no cord at all. The shiny black comes at a price. For some time the argument for the anticipated elimination of the headphone jack was that it would allow the phone to be thinner than its predecessor, the iPhone 6S.

Also, under a precautionary note, the company has also warned users against charging the iPhone 7 when wet, “Liquid damage is not covered under warranty”, Apple said.
