Pence releases tax returns, while Trump’s remain a secret

The campaign said Pence paid a state and federal tax rate that ranged between 10 percent and 16 percent over the past decade.

Donald Trump hasn’t publicity released his tax returns.

“The Pence family has been honored to serve their state and their nation for the past 16 years, while raising 3 great children and putting them through college”, said spokesman Marc Lotter.

The numbers show that Pence has earned a relatively modest average income of $160,000 since 2006.

“Americans are fed up with Washington’s self-enrichment racket”, Pence added.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton described Trump’s remarks about the Russian President as freakish and scary. He has said he is waiting for the conclusion of an audit.

Their 2015 income was the lowest of the 10 years of released tax returns, though in all years they brought home a 6-figure income. Her running mate, Virginia Sen.

Every major United States presidential nominee since Richard Nixon has released their tax returns before the election, but Trump has repeatedly punted on the issue.

Some have speculated that Trump may pay little or no tax or that his net worth may be much less than the $10 billion he has claimed.

The Trump campaign also repeated a pledge that Trump would release his own returns once the government completes an audit.

In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday, Pence compared Trump’s bold comments to those made by the former president.

In his financial disclosure form here, Pence lists his main asset as his defined benefit pension from the state of IN, valued at between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

During NBC’s Commander-In-Chief forum on Wednesday night ― the first event featuring both presidential candidates in question-and-answer sessions on national security ― Trump struggled to give a clear answer on his strategy to beat ISIS, claiming he both did and did not have a plan after more than a year of claiming he had a secret strategy for taking on the terrorist group.

“I always tell people – I mean, but for a whole lot of zeroes, he and I have an very bad lot in common”, Pence said this week, referring to Trump.
