Arsene Wenger promises ‘frenetic’ final week of Arsenal’s transfer window

Arsene Wenger believes the arrival of Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi will represent a successful summer transfer window for Arsenal as they would have met the objectives set at the start.

“We had to work very hard to get the signings done”.

Their 27-year-old attacking target, known commonly as Lucas, has emerged as a top target for Arsene Wenger as he looks to add to his ranks before the transfer window closes next week.

Wenger said, “This season I thought we had the most easy transfer window ever because we knew what we wanted and who we wanted and it didn’t come off, so you have to restart. I’m 99 percent confident [we will]”.

Local newspaper La Voz De Galicia reported Arsenal agreed to meet the €20 million (£17.1m) buy-out clause in Perez’s contract, and that the move was hours away from completion. The Frenchman wants to make a breakthrough signing following the criticism by supporters after the Gunners’ goalless draw against Leicester City last weekend.

So can Arsenal fans understand why Wenger took so long to sign a striker after the snub from Vardy? If that is exactly similar to the contract of the players and that maintains the supporters being happy, that is better still. And I think when I told you the transfer is linked of course with talent, the expected strength, but as well with resale. Not a lot has happened.

He said: “Will it affect his future? No”.

Everton majority investor Farhad Moshiri faces an uphill battle with former club Arsenal for the signing of £17m Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez.

“Everybody has sat on their pounds until now”.

“I expect the next three days to be very, very busy, so be on alert”. Could he go out and play on loan?

The situation saw them starting the season with young duo Rob Holding and Calum Chambers in the centre of defence for the clash with Liverpool, a game they lost 4-3.
