Pressure not heightened for Old Firm match, insists Celtic boss Rodgers

With the club now under the management of Carnlough man Brendan Rodgers, Eze will – along with their partners Everywhere Travel – be responsible for organising hospitality and away game travel arrangements for the club’s fans. “Having experienced derbies before, in Merseyside and Wales, there is a certain unique quality to each one and this is iconic throughout the world and one that I am really looking forward to”.

And it is putting Scottish football back on the map.

There’s unlikely to be a soccer-loving Glasgow household that isn’t tinged with excitement at the renewal of the Celtic-Rangers rivalry.

Glove rival Wes Foderingham is set to continue between the sticks for Rangers as Warburton’s side set their sights on top spot in the Premiership standings.

“I have said it openly – I think in the last match Rangers were the better team in the semi-final”. Saturday ushers in the start of a new era of the Old Firm in the Scottish Premiership.

“That’s why players speak so highly of it”. And, invariably, fan clashes and violence in and outside the stadium.

Rangers new boy Joey Barton, speaking exclusively to FourFourTwo, has vowed to put an end to rumours that he was a supporter of arch rivals Celtic in his youth. “If you can look back in years to come and say you were involved in this sort of game, especially one where there hasn’t been a league Old Firm game for a few years now, that’s great, and the interest is obvious throughout the United Kingdom and globally too”. That, to me, means it is going to be one hell of an atmosphere. Barton, who has nine red cards in his career, arrived from England’s Burnley in the offseason and immediately began taunting Brown.

When asked whether he had the same confidence this time, Miller said: “It’s a different challenge”.

“I really sensed that they can’t wait to get playing and working. He can’t get near me”.

Rodgers, who could turn to Moussa Dembele up front, added: “He has been in great form but for whatever reason, if he didn’t make it, hopefully you have seen with the squad, and as I said earlier in the season, we need to have goals around the team and that’s the way it has been for us”.

“But I don’t think anything will prepare you from watching on the television to actually being there”.

Not even the most optimistic follower of Rangers expects their side to prevail at Celtic Park this afternoon and then go on and usurp their traditional adversaries as the dominant force in the country this season.

Another reminder of the old days is the teams’ position in the standings.
