Jets’ Harris questionable for opener, Jenkins doubtful

The linebacker, who has a badly bruised shoulder, was limited in practice. He hasn’t missed a game since 2008, which means he has played through three presidential terms, basically.

There will be much emotion and import crammed into the afternoon for all the fans who attend Sunday’s Jets-Bengals season opener at MetLife Stadium. Previously, questionable meant 50 percent. Coach Todd Bowles says he could be a game-time decision. “We’ll be determining that tomorrow, and right up until Sunday morning”.

“He ran, and he did some things”, Bowles said after Friday’s practice.

Harris has started every game for the Jets at middle linebacker over the past seven seasons, so NY certainly needs their defensive leader in there. He says he initially thought he had broken his collarbone, and is relieved the injury is not as serious.

“I’ve been doing my rehab, treatment all day, every day, trying to speed up the recovery process”, said Harris, admitting it’s one of the toughest injuries he has had to deal with.
