Jeremy Corbyn vows to introduce ‘bill of rights’ for internet users

His focus on democracy is particularly significant as it would be more than a simple policy change, and could result in strengthened popular pressure against austerity, holding any future Labour governments to account, and setting the framework for widespread better visions of what society can and should be like.

When asked during a question and answer session after his speech at Unison headquarters how he meant to win over any alienated female Labour MPs, he said: “I want to reach out to all members of the Labour Party and all members of the parliamentary party”.

“Such a fifth column is completely absent from the Parliamentary Labour Party today”, said Mr Winnick.

He added: “It would be for the SNP to choose to put that to the Scottish people”.

“All those promises were contingent on Labour being in power, and obviously Labour isn’t in power”.

“Many people use instant access to Twitter, more or less, like continuing a pub conversation and deeply regret the abuse they have sent people at that time, but unfortunately, it’s there for eternity”, he said. “All of that is completely untrue”.

“There is something more than ideology or leadership appeal here – if the pro-Corbyn faction are left in control of the Labour party they get 21% compared to the rebels on 13%; if Corbyn’s opponents win control of the Labour party they get 19% compared to the Corbyn faction’s 14%”.

“Under my leadership, Labour will take action to remove the barriers in our society to women achieving full equality, we will tackle discrimination, sexism and violence against women and girls, both online and physical”.

John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, claimed that a “rigged purge” was being conducted by the Labour Party…

However, in a major blow to Mr Smith’s campaign the poll shows he is slightly behind with those who voted to Remain in the European Union referendum despite placing the issue – and the policy to hold a second referendum on the terms of Brexit – at the forefront of his leadership bid.

“Labour is in a mess and its lack of leadership on this most vital of issues is letting down thousands of people across Scotland who back our place in the United Kingdom and want political parties to stand up for that”.

Scottish Labour has committed itself to opposing a second referendum. With with only two candidates is a simple race for votes. It is odd that the Tories are criticising Labour on independence for repeating exactly what Ruth Davidson said only a few weeks ago.
