In the past, PlayStation consoles have been the easiest entry point into new optical disc formats (DVD for the PS2, Blu-ray for the PS3), so to not have that feature in this more powerful version of the PS4 is disappointing. During the presentation, Activision Chief Technology Officer Andy Hendrickson said Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will support the PS4 Pro as will Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 after an update in the future. With such freedom, Bethesda, developers of Fallout 4 found it easier we assume to import mod files and make them run on the Xbox One console.

Due Oct 11 in a 20 Year Celebration package, archaeological action adventure Rise of the Tomb Raider comes with three different settings for PS4 Pro owners, who can choose between smoother gameplay or more detailed visuals, switching between 4K and 1080p resolutions until they find their preferred mix. That’s still a lot of money, but it’s relatively cheap compared to what it’s previously cost.

There are just so many console games you can play on the PC nowadays, and some of us would love to play as we would with a console.
Sony will also be partnering up with Netflix and YouTube to bring 4K streaming apps to the PS4 Pro. The PS4 Pro will be able to display both HDR and 4K resolutions as well as play all the games now available on the original PS4.
The PS4 Pro is a little more hard to justify. Granted, I’ve not yet put my hands on either console, but the recent Sony event didn’t exactly inspire the way they were maybe hoping. PS4 Pro is out on November 10 and sell for $399 while Slim on Sept 15 at $299.
Assuming all circumstances equal, and youre just now getting into the game, the Slim is likely the way to go.

I saw some data that really influenced me. Console releases, especially mid-gen upgrades, aren’t always the best idea to jump in with head first.
