In it, Mr Trump praised Vladimir Putin for his high approval ratings and his “very strong control” over Russian Federation, comparing him favourably to Barack Obama, the United States president. After Trump touted 88 retired military figures backing his campaign earlier this week, Clinton’s campaign has sought to keep the upper hand, noting her growing list of endorsements.

“The problem is, Hillary Clinton is trigger-happy”. But she defended her support for USA military intervention to help oust a dictator in Libya, despite the chaotic aftermath. She’s just too quick to intervene, invade, or to push for regime change, ‘ he said at the summit.

Clinton and Trump have clashed repeatedly over foreign policy, but their battle rose to a new level Wednesday night when the two were separately grilled over their national security credentials.

Clinton told a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, that Trump’s comment that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “far more” of a leader than President Barack Obama “shocked her”. “National security experts on both sides of the aisle are chilled by what they’re hearing from the Republican nominee”.

He also cited what he said was a March 25, 2003, interview.

“I think it’s probably unlikely”, he said. ‘And it’s a war that, when we got out, we got out the wrong way.

“Bizarrely once again, he praised Russia’s strongman, Vladimir Putin, even taking the astonishing step of suggesting that he preferred the Russian president to our American president”.

“She tried to make up for her awful performance last night, it was a frightful performance, so she went on the tarmac and told more lies”, Trump said, blasting a news conference Clinton held on the tarmac of a NY airport.

Trump has said he has avoided mock debates in favor of policy discussions with a roundtable of his closest advisers, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
