Club president: Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t join Manchester United

Milan’s general manager Adriano Galliani has repeatedly said his club are waiting for a sign from PSG that Ibrahimovic may be sold and Berlusconi has reiterated his club’s ambition of bringing him back to the San Siro.

Though Laurent Blanc’s side have eased to victories in their opening two Ligue 1 fixtures without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is recovering from a knee injury, it is still something of a shock that PSG would consider offloading such a crucial member of their Parc des Princes squad.

The 33-year-old scored 19 goals for PSG last season but is now thought to be available for a cut-price fee, although his wages will still be sky high. The player’s agent has already started looking for a new club.

Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a return to Milan this summer, though, and Berlusconi has made it clear the team will always have room for the Sweden global if he wants a comeback.

At the end of July, the Swedish striker claimed that his next move would shock people: “Where I go next, it will be a surprise, a very big surprise”.

The Daily Mail today makes the obvious connection that both Arsenal and Manchester United are in desperate need of firepower or support for existing strikers. “All the official news about our work [during the] transfer period are going to be announced on our official media channels”.
