Twins To Wear Jacob Wetterling Patch Friday Night

Occasionally a auto would drive down the short cul-de-sac to the house, some to drop off flowers, others to see if anything was going on.

Jacob Wetterling went missing 27 years ago in rural Stearns County.

The Indians will also wear the number 11 patch Friday.

Jacob Wetterling was a fan of all sports and wore the No. 11 jersey as a child. His family has encouraged people to use the number and jerseys as symbols of hope in honor of the boy. The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC) was founded to educate and assist families and communities to address and prevent the exploitation of children.

Beginning Friday, the Twins will auction off 11 game-worn jerseys with the number 11 patch from Friday with all proceeds benefitting the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center. Earlier this week, kidnapper Danny Heinrich confessed to sexually assaulting and killing the boy and led police to his remains.

The list was put together after a youth soccer team asked if they could all wear No. 11 jerseys for an upcoming game. “We at the Twins are deeply moved by the strength of the Wetterling family and are honored to play a small role in helping them spread their message and further the important work of the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center”. On Thursday, they posted some of the photos they’d received to Facebook.

Several prayer services for Jacob are planned in the coming days.
