Stafford County Sheriff’s officials say Malachi Love-Robinson is charged with identity theft and other fraud offenses after he attempted to purchase a Jaguar at a auto dealership.
The fake teen doctor allegedly tried to use his aunt’s credit card to purchase a auto.
Authorities said that Love-Robinson completed an online credit application and listed the woman as a co-signer.
Love-Robinson defended himself, saying he had only practiced alternative medicine and had the proper certifications and licenses to do so.
His defense lawyers said they were exploring a mental health defense.
Employees at the dealership became suspicious of Love-Robinson during his visit and Googled his name, at which time they discovered he had been arrested numerous times on fraud-type charges in Florida.
We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
Detectives said Love-Robinson tried to buy a $35,000 Jaguar from Kargar Motors Car Dealership, located at 3316 Jefferson Davis Highway in Stafford, Virginia, on September 9.

Once police had the information, the dealership called Love-Robinson and told him his credit had been approved to purchase the Jaguar. Love-Robinson told the deputies his godmother had agreed to cosign for the loan on the Jaguar.
Love-Robinson was charged with false statements to obtain credit, obtaining money by false pretenses and identity fraud. The woman also said she had no intentions of co-signing a loan for the auto. She said she had not given Love-Robinson permission to use her as a cosigner.
However, when police questioned the woman, she told them that she had no intentions of co-signing a auto.

The iPads were seized along with other items at the time of his arrest, and detectives are now investigating further leads in this case. He was booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail early Saturday.
