The Aam Aadmi party (AAP) on Friday slammed cricketer-turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for his remarks against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the latter is acting like the “team B of RSS”. “He first wanted that the BJP should first contest polls all alone, but when it was not possible, he got separated with the blessings of the RSS”, Singh said.

Sidhu had resigned from the Rajya Sabha last month.
Battling dissidence and allegations of sleaze and corruption against his MLAs, the AAP convener on Thursday arrived in Punjab to give a fresh push to AAP’s assembly poll campaign amid heckling by rivals and voiced apprehension about more muck being thrown at the party in the run up to the elections. However, Kejriwal in a tweet, had later denied it.
Refusing to clear air about his status as BJP member, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday said that his newly-launched Awaz-e-Punjab is not a political party as yet, but a political forum for all honest and likeminded people who want to see a new and prosperous Punjab. “So, if AAP is voted to power, the government would make Anandpur Sahib a holy city”, he said. “He [Kejriwal] offered a ministerial berth to my wife if AAP won and asked me not to fight the elections”, he said. The former Punjab CM said, “Kejriwal belongs to Haryana as his native village is near Hisar”.

Mr. Sidhu said Awaaz-e-Punjab was not a party but a forum for all like-minded people to come together to serve Punjab’s interests. “How can a person save Punjab when he cannot relinquish his claim to a ticket”, Singh added.
