Philippines’ Duterte tells Obama he never called him ‘son of a b—-‘
American investors in the Philippines yesterday warned that President Duterte’s brutal drugs war and foul-mouthed tirades, including branding U.S. leader Barack Obama a “son of a bitch”, could hit foreign investment.

Duterte said that the media’s role was important in recording the history of the country.
The acid-tongued Mr. Duterte also blamed the diplomatic bust-up on the foreign media’s erroneous translation of “putang ina” into English as “son of a whore”.

Being the chairman of the next ASEAN summit, Duterte also said that holding the event in Davao City was an option but it would depend on the security situation given that the country had been put under a state of emergency on account of lawlessness.
