Lady Gaga releases her new single “Perfect Illusion”
Now the Mother Monster (as she’s known to her fans) has released a new song, titled Perfect Illusion. At points, it nearly sounds like the classic rock band Queen.

“Perfect Illusion” is out now. Parker also co-produced the track.
“Me and Florence Welch did a duet together”, Gaga said on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show. “Me and Florence Welch did a duet together”.
Lady Gaga previously described the song as “modern ecstasy”, and we can certainly see why. “It’s really great to make this very honest, authentic, kind of analogue record with her”. Collaborators include Father John Misty, Beck, Giorgio Moroder, and Florence Welch. What was important to me was it wasn’t just a song about any illusion but one we can all relate to.
“How do we navigate through social media?” The album sold 758,000 copies in the U.S., a big drop from the previous 2.4 million United States sales for “Born This Way” and 4.7 million sales for “The Fame”. “I sat at piano, Kevin was on guitar, Mark was on the bass”.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on United Kingdom station BBC Radio 1, the “Poker Face” hitmaker said: “There’s a feature on the album that I think you will be very excited about”. She posted large collages on Instagram in anticipation of “Perfect Illusion” and even the album cover art for her fifth studio album to be released later this year. “This is about accepting that and letting go”. We can’t help but wonder if it’s about her split with Taylor Kinney, with lyrics like “It wasn’t love/ It was a flawless illusion”. But, with that said, Gaga can have the tendency at times to do things differently and also play it safe – that’s ultimately what she does with “Perfect Illusion“. “It’s about wanting people to re-establish that human connection”.
