Bradford to Minnesota: What does this mean for fantasy?
Bradford replaces Teddy Bridgewater, who went down for the season after suffering a gruesome knee injury this week.

ESPN reported that the conditional fourth-round pick Minnesota gave up becomes a third-round selection if the Vikings go to the NFC championship this season and a second-round pick if they win the Super Bowl. During the spring, Bradford stayed away from the Eagles’ voluntary program and requested a trade. “Howie [Roseman] and the organization had to make a very hard decision about giving up a player of Sam Bradford’s caliber and we had to make a decision on what gives us the best chance to win”.
Quarterback Sam Bradford got the deal he had requested several months ago … to eight days of the opening match.
The Eagles’ now have a 1st round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft which will be here in Philadelphia in April. “Start talking to the coaching staff (about) how we’re going to attack this offense and how I’m going to learn it”.
It’s been a busy, hectic and maybe surprising 24 hours, in which the Minnesota Vikings showed their confidence in their chances this season by trading for Sam Bradford, the Philadelphia Eagles probably revealed they don’t think they can win this season, the Denver Broncos showed that signing Mark Sanchez in the first place was rather useless, and the Dallas Cowboys got the veteran quarterback they wanted. Wentz missed the last three preseason games because of broken ribs, but personnel chief Howie Roseman said the team is “very confident” about the recovery track he’s been on. He said coaches, who weren’t in the building Saturday, would make that decision.
After reportedly informing McLeod Bethel-Thompson of his release Saturday, the Eagles are down to two quarterbacks, so it seems they’ll either change their mind or add a different quarterback soon.
With this at stake, the pressure mounts on the shoulder of Bradford, who will play backup to starter Shaun Hill. In return, the Eagles will receive the Vikings’ 2017 first-round draft pick as well as a fourth-rounder in 2018, the Eagles said. Almost half of second round picks do.
The Eagles invested a ton of money in Bradford, guaranteeing him $22 million in a two-year deal.
Additionally, as we discussed previously, tight end coach Pat Shurmur coached Bradford in St. Louis and Philadelphia.
The Eagles didn’t enter last week looking to trade Sam Bradford. But hey, as often as the National Football League gets criticized for a ton of things, they keep making more and more money, and the popularity doesn’t seem to get hurt.
Roseman said the two franchises have been talking in general – not about Bradford – for some time, so the conversations about Bradford didn’t appear out of thin air.
The Eagles were 7-9 last season and would have been in a rebuilding mode in a division other than the diluted NFC East.
By exchanging Bradford, they will initiate development of Bradford earlier than planned.
“Because of our quarterback depth chart, we got some calls this week”, Roseman said.

Many thought the Browns might select Teddy Bridgewater in the 2014 NFL Draft, but they chose to take Johnny Manziel. So, to keep on track and hope that they can come out of this on the other side positively, they have traded for Sam Bradford.
