With the recent debacle of their newest release, the Samsung Galaxy Note7, exploding when charging, Samsung has called a worldwide recall and replacement of that phone.

The reports from Samsung say that first Note7 replacements start shipping on September 21 in Australia.

For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one, beginning on September 19th.

Three Australian airlines – Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin Australia – have banned passengers from charging their phones onboard aircraft, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) “strongly advises” customers to refrain from turning on or charging their Galaxy Note7 devices on domestic flights. Samsung has issued a global recall of the device after incidents of the devices catching fire when plugged in to charge. “Samsung has identified the affected inventory and stopped sales and shipments of those devices”, the company said.
