AAP bowled by Sidhu googly
The outfit named as Aawaaz-e-Punjab will be formally launched next week. Reports say the new front is soon expected to become a political party and is expected to make the Punjab poll contest a quadrangular one.

BJP leader and cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as a member of the Rajya Sabha in July.
Navjot Singh Sidhu quits BJP, likely to join AAP?
According to the BJP, AAP’s graph had taken a drastic hit after allegations of cash for ticket against party leader Sanjay Singh and complaints of sexual harassment of women by Durgesh Pathak. Punjab MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwant Singh Bains will also be part of Sidhu’s team.
Sidhu had in mid-August met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence and discussed with him his plans of joining the AAP. “We are in talks with all like-minded people to form a non-Akali, non-Congress and non-AAP political front, ‘ Bains said. There’s still six months before Punjab goes to the polls in or after February 2017.

Navjot Singh Sidhu has formed a new political front – Aawaaz-e-Punjab – which the cricketer-turned-politician insists is not a new political party. “Of course, the larger question is he left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and today he has formed a new formation”, Congress leader Tom Vadakkan told ANI. The party was desperately looking for a Sikh face for the elections, who could match the likes of incumbent octogenarian Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal or even the belligerent Congress chief, Capt Amarinder Singh. Chhotepur and his supporters – HS Kingra and six of AAP’s zonal heads – will also join the front, a supporter close to the leader said.
