Colorado cops rescue bear cub with head stuck in tub

Springs police and firefighters rescued a bear cub Tuesday morning after the cub’s head got stuck inside a protein powder bottle. Officers attempted to remove the bottle but were unsuccessful, police said.

The two cubs were found clinging to their mom’s body after the accident, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said. They loaded the bear into the backseat of their patrol auto and headed to a nearby fire station.

It published a photo of the small cub riding in the cruiser, sitting under the rear window, her head stuck in the tub. A Parks and Wildlife ranger sedated the bear, and firefighters used rescue tools to remove the bottle.

Officers euthanized a bear that was being fed by a woman in Colorado Springs.

“The bear cub was tagged and released…in hopes that she will be reunited with mama bear”.
