Steph Curry voices support for Colin Kaepernick National Anthem protest

The question of who Kaepernick is offending by not standing for the national anthem has distracted from the goal of his protest, which is about, among other things, the treatment of African Americans by police and the justice system.

He’s someone that also realizes there are many issues that need to be addressed and need changing in this country.

Since Kaepernick chose to protest the national anthem, additional NFL players have come forward in support ― most recently Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall on Thursday. “But I have great respect for the religion”. I don’t really have a say on it, but I would never do that. “On the other hand, we believe very strongly in patriotism in the NFL”. Sales of Kaepernick’s jersey have skyrocketed since his protest became public. Tortorella, who will coach the United States at the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, told ESPN: “If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game”.

The 49ers Tuesday said they had no immediate comment on the sales of Kaepernick’s jerseys.

“I applaud him for taking his stand and hopefully the conversation is about his message and not is he going to stand or is he gonna sit for the national anthem?”

– Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin said he has considered joining Lane in not standing for the anthem.

“I wasn’t expecting my jersey sales to jump to number one because of this, but it shows the people’s belief that we can achieve justice and equality for ALL!”

“I want to make sure I get all my ducks in a row before I do so, ” Baldwin said.

It’s been nearly two weeks since it became public that Kaepernick was sitting down during the national anthem. “I believe in the people, and WE can be the change!”

Kaepernick is the 49er’s No. 2 quarterback, behind Blaine Gabbert, who was named the team’s starter for its home opener against the Los Angeles Rams Monday. According to The Seattle Times, he most likely won’t be protesting alone during the regular season. He replaced the injured Alex Smith as starter later that season and led San Francisco to the Super Bowl.

“I don’t doubt his sincerity”, Mr. Obama said of Kaepernick. “So I continue to work and prepare for when that next opportunity comes”.
