Western Michigan hit 70 points for the first time since 1996.

Lock completed 24-of-37 passes in posting the third-highest passing yardage in school history – and the most in a win – trailing only the 480 yards from Jeff Handy vs. Oklahoma State in 1992, and the 468 yards by Blaine Gabbert in 2009 vs. Baylor. Damarea Crockett and Ish Witter combined to run for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tigers had 647 yards of total offense, which marks the first time Missouri gained 600 yards of total offense since 2013 when MU beat Indiana. Three of them – Ray Wingo, Johnathon Johnson and Emanuel Hall – each had at least 90 yards receiving. The Eagles flew past Mississippi Valley State last week 61-14 while the Missouri Tigers offense was toothless against the Mountaineers of West Virginia and got shot down 26-11. They moved the ball at will against the Delta Devils, as Shaq Vann rolled up 156 of the team’s 281 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns. They did a really good job of that.

ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN (1-0): The Eagles weren’t tested in their opener, going ahead 21-0 in the first quarter and leading 54-0 through three periods.

Missouri (1-1) never trailed after taking its opening drive for a touchdown.
