Broncos’ Brandon Marshall dropped by sponsor after kneeling during anthem

In Thursday’s first competitive game of the 2016 season, Denver’s Marshall was the only player from either the Broncos or the Carolina Panthers not to stand while The Star-Spangled Banner played prior to kick-off. The same day that the two NFL players took a knee, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat down while the national anthem was played.

It has released a formal statement for releasing Marshall as a spokesperson.

Marshall, who is Black, is the third NFL player to not stand during the national anthem since Kaepernick began his sideline protest against racial injustice and police brutality.

“I can live with it”, he said, according to The Denver Post. “I support Colin and what he’s trying to do”. “I’m just against social injustice”.
