San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick
Kaepernick has become a polarizing figure since he decided three weeks ago to not stand for the national anthem during the NFL pre-season. His peaceful protests immediately drew both praise and ire from Americans of all walks of life, including military personnel and National Football League players.

The 49ers’ backup quarterback denied multiple online reports on Wednesday that claimed he has converted to Islam. But in the past 10 days, she’s sold around 10 Kaepernick jerseys at full price.
“I need a Colin Kaepernick jersey asap”, tweeted Oliver Ellison on Tuesday. “I have to help these communities”. We have chosen to work with these two organizations because they have proven track records of effecting change in the face of challenging problems and have the collective reach to make the greatest impact. The NFL gets going Thursday, and we’ll start to see whether or not other players join in over the next few days. I personally believe very strongly in that.
“I’m not backing off”, said Tortorella, according to ESPN.com. She is Muslim, her family is Muslim, I have great respect for them.
“I think it’s something that there’s a lot of players that really feel the same way”, said Kaepernick. It’s the veterans that have reached out and said that’s what they fought for, that’s what they sacrificed their lives for was to give people back home under the flag, under this country, the opportunity to stand up or sit for what they believe in.
Warriors superstar Steph Curry has weighed in.
Kaepernick is refusing to stand for the National Anthem in protest of police brutality across the nation.
Kaepernick, who says he intends to continue his protest, will get his chance Monday night when the 49ers open the season. “He didn’t want that”. There’s gonna be people who disagree with him, there’s gonna be people who agree with him.
The player, who has made national headlines for not standing during the anthem, said on his Instagram account that he wanted to “repay” his supporters for their ongoing concern and support.
Meanwhile, the unquestioned face of Bay Area sports is Stephen Curry, the two-time reigning NBA MVP.
