Trump will debate Clinton for the first time on September 26.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is “far more” of a leader than Barack Obama, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday, echoing previous praise for the Kremlin strongman.
“The other night in the Commander-in-Chief forum, Hillary Clinton answered questions on her emails horribly – it seems with each week, she has a different answer”. Here are five important moments from that hour.
He was criticized for allegedly lobbing softball questions at Trump, while grilling Hillary Clinton on her use of a private email server, reported Business Insider’s Mark Abadi.
Clinton said she regretted her decision as a U.S. senator from NY to vote in favor of the much-criticized 2003 Iraq war and that Trump had been in favour of it as well.
Clinton began the forum saying her long experience in government as a USA senator and secretary of state made her uniquely qualified to serve as president.
“I did exactly what I should have done and I take it very seriously”. “There were no headers”. Trump also said the United States should work in partnership with Russian Federation to defeat the Islamic State terrorists, even though Russian Federation under Putin has upset many in the West by annexing Crimea from Ukraine and becoming more aggressive in opposing USA policies. “We got them to the negotiating table”. After the forum, the official said, more generals and admirals came forward to offer their endorsements.
But that wouldn’t include committing more forces to the effort.
Trump repeated his claim that he was “against” the Iraq War, an assertion that has been repeatedly debunked. “She even mysteriously lost 13 different phones before the Federal Bureau of Investigation could get them – some were even destroyed with a hammer”, he said.
Clinton provided more specifics, stressing DAESH would be defeated without United States ground troops being deployed.
Some of Trump’s foreign policy positions, such as his proposal to fight terrorism by imposing a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country, have alarmed not just Democrats but many in his own party’s leadership.
He argued it was the generals serving under the current Democratic president who were ill-prepared, and said he would change leadership if elected.
Donald Trump has showered Vladimir Putin with compliments as he and leveled questions were taken by competition Hillary Clinton. “I don’t know anyone who hasn’t”, said Clinton. But he also noted he still has “great faith in the military”.
He said that he did have a plan to defeat ISIS, despite saying in a speech in Philadelphia that he would ask military leaders to develop a program within 30 days after he became president.
“I have a substantial chance of winning, but if I win I don’t want to broadcast” the plan, Trump said. “What would Ronald Reagan say about a Republican nominee who attacks American generals and heaps praise on Russia’s president?”
Then, on Friday, the Clinton campaign rolled out more endorsements, with a news release titled, “Number of Generals and Admirals Backing Clinton Grows to 110 After Forum”.

“But I look at this and I saw this is a Clinton campaign that was handed a lot of opportunities by what Donald Trump said in this forum last night”.
