Paul Krugman Demolishes Trump’s Promotion of a Strong Vladimir Putin
Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump’s repeated flattery of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his appearance on a Russian state-sponsored news outlet an “unseemly” sideshow in the campaign that shows the Republican nominee isn’t a serious candidate.

Trump kicked off his wide-ranging phone conversation with American journalist Larry King, whose show Politicking airs weekly on RT America, by bashing the US media for its “tremendous dishonesty”.
Trump, in the 10-minute phone interview on King’s “Politicking” show, expressed skepticism about allegations that Russian Federation is trying to impact the presidential election, blasted the United States’ interventions in the Middle East and contended that his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton “doesn’t have what it takes” to improve the country.
Pence, the governor of IN, made his comments Thursday during an interview with CNN IN which he said “it’s unarguable that Vladimir Putin has been a stronger leader IN his country than Barack Obama has been IN this country”.
The interview came as Trump faced sustained criticism for praising Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he has regularly done on the campaign trail – to the discomfort of many members of his own party, who have distanced themselves from the comments.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”, Trump said back in July.
Private cybersecurity analysts have blamed Russian intelligence agencies for electronic break-ins into Democratic Party computers, including a breach of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the House Democrats’ campaign arm.
Trump criticized US policy in Iraq from the time of Republican President George W. Bush, who ordered the American-led invasion in 2003 in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, al Qaeda attacks on the United States.
The Trump campaign claims it had no idea that that interview was airing on a Russian network.
“Mr. Trump recorded a short interview with Larry King for his podcast as a favour to Mr. King”, Hicks said. Still, even among Trump supporters, Putin is generally unpopular: 59 percent have an unfavorable view of him (compared to 92 percent for Obama). “We have nothing to do with it”.
If Donald Trump is elected president, he could push for an American foreign policy that is more favorable toRussian President Vladimir Putin’s goals and interests, some experts fear – and he could unnerve USA allies.
“Donald Trump is so fond of quoting polls, you think he would read the ones where the president has a majority getting him high marks for his presidency”, he said.
“After Labor Day, as people are really looking at this race, a ticket that is praising a dictator who is hurting his country, hurting his people, as some example of leadership, is frightful”, Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s running mate, said after being asked about the controversy over Putin. “I think either way, Trump’s love for Putin or potential hate for Putin would lead to incredible world insecurity”.
On his programs, he said, “Russia is criticized”.
Kellyanne Conway told CBS’s Charlie Rose Friday that Trump’s position is to put America first, but she offered no details for how the Republican nominee would handle North Korea’s growing nuclear threat. “The Middle East for this country has been a catastrophe”, he said.
As Bash questioned how that word could describe a man with his name on so many buildings, Pence said Trump reveals his “humility” in private.

Asked if it was now unclear whether that would happen, King said he did not know, adding, “all I do is do a show”. Clinton said. “I’m not sure anything surprises us any more”. Mr Pence called it “inarguable” that Mr Putin is a stronger leader than the United States president.
