Seven San Francisco Bay area cops to be charged in sex scandal

If and when Guap returns to California, O’Malley plans to charge Ricardo Perez with one felony, oral copulation with a minor, and two misdemeanor counts of engaging in a lewd act in a public place. The other agencies include the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the police departments of San Francisco and Richmond, and the us military’s Defense Logistics Agency.

Some of the encounters happened in exchange for information about planned prostitution raids, the woman has alleged, and some occurred when she was underage. One of the Oakland Police officers implicated in the scandal killed himself previous year, The AP reported. In June, three Oakland police chiefs lost their jobs in one week. Five of those officers were or are still on the Oakland police force.

The former Livermore cop Dan Black is facing two misdemeanors for engaging in prostitution and two misdemeanors for engaging in a lewd act in public.

Six Richmond, Calif., police officers and personnel at other law enforcement agencies have also been implicated. Nancy E. O’Malley can not officially file charges against the seven police officers until the teen who is alleging that the officers had sexual relations with her comes back from the rehabilitation program in Florida. DA says 7 cops will be charged in sex scandal case ” We uphold the rights of victims at the highest level”, Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley said. Guap traveled to Florida to enter rehab for drug and sex addiction, but she reportedly ran into a street and flashed drivers, then attacked staffers at the rehab center and bit a security guard on the arm. She is now in a rehabilitation facility in Florida, where she was sent with the assistance of Richmond officials, who say the move was voluntary.

As the city concludes its administrative investigation, Schaaf’s office has issued a press release stating that four officers will be fired for offenses including attempted sexual assault and assisting in the crime of prostitution.

In June, the teen told The Associated Press and other media outlets that she had sex with four officers when she was younger than 18.

Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley provides the latest in the sex abuse scandal involving police officers and a teenager. O’Malley said Friday that there was “extrinsic evidence” that Guap never actually met Brendan O’Brien, the Oakland police officer shot himself after the teen threatened to expose their relationship to the police. And a Livermore police officer resigned as part of the scandal, according to reports published earlier this week.

However, the case has expanded to several Bay Area departments including San Francisco, and Friday’s charges were filed against officers from Oakland, Livermore and Contra Costa County. For example, text messages and Instagram posts between federal police officer William Johnson and Guap appeared to show Johnson proposing to become Guap’s exploiter in order to sell her to others for sex. “If the agency that sent her doesn’t pay her airfare, we will pay to bring her back”. Mayor Schaff did not specify the name of the officers she was referring to, so it is unclear if she was talking about the police officers O’Malley is charging.
