Clinton: It was wrong to call half of Trump supporters ‘deplorable’
Islamic State jihadists are praying to Allah and “rooting” for Donald Trump to become the next president, according to Hillary Clinton, who lambasted her rival’s “demagoguery” and use of the phrase “radical Islam”. “Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it”, she said at a fundraiser.

“What’s truly deplorable isn’t just that Hillary Clinton made an inexcusable mistake in front of wealthy donors and reporters happened to be around to catch it, it’s that Clinton revealed just how little she thinks of the hard-working men and women of America”, Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller said in a statement.
Clinton was referring to Trump’s campaign CEO Steve Bannon, formerly the chairman of Breitbart News.
Said Clinton: “They know they can count on me to be the kind of commander-in-chief who will protect our country and our troops, and they know they cannot count on Donald Trump”. “Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself, and this proves beyond a doubt that she is unfit and incapable to serve as President of the United States”, he added.
Seeking to explain the statements, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a series of tweets after the remarks that Clinton has been talking about the “alternative right”, or “alt-right” movement, which often is associated with efforts on the far right to preserve “white identity”, oppose multiculturalism and defend “Western values”.
And Trump himself tweeted: “Wow, Hillary Clinton was SO INSULTING to my supporters, millions of fantastic, hard working people. They are Americans, and they deserve your respect”.
Trump said in a statement Saturday that “her true feelings came out, showing bigotry and hatred for millions of Americans”.
“So let me just say from the bottom of my heart: Hillary, they are not a basket of anything”. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead end.
“I thought her idea of we don’t need any troops in Iraq and Syria ― even though we got 7,000 in Iraq and probably close to a thousand in Syria ― was disappointing”, Graham said.
For several moments Clinton stood still, shaking her head – then returned to the podium.
Clinton’s campaign is hoping to disqualify Trump with some military voters, aiming to cut into Trump’s support among lean-Republican voters who prioritize national security. She also flushed out several national security priorities if she is elected, including trying to take out the leader of the Islamic State and vowing to defeat the extremist group without putting US troops on the ground in Iraq or Syria. “His disregard for the values that make our country great is profoundly risky”.
Despite having some positive expectations for her, Graham wasn’t impressed with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s performance, calling her “defensive”. “Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America”.
Following Ms Clinton’s comments hashtag #BasketOfDeplorables started trending on Twitter with many users either condemning or supporting her remarks.

“We can’t take anyone or any place for granted and therefore I am asking you to volunteer for a phone bank or a canvass”, she told the audience at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan’s financial district.
